making the path

Technology and Teaching

Today we all talked and discussed about how technology can be used in various ways to improve our present education system and make the learning interesting.I totally support the use of technology in providing the quality education. While discussing on this topic a thought came to my mind why cant we use a well programmed robot assisting teacher in schools.I know using the robot will make the learning process very mechanical kind of and no emotions and non understanding of child emotion will take place but it will do the teaching in a desired standardize process. It may be fantasy of my mind but i really want to explore the possibility of this idea.

Learning and assessment

We never want to get assessed until or unless we have that confidence that we knew everything.I never had any encounter with a person who loved exams.Whenever anyone has to give exams they have some fear  and some discomfort related to it.This is because of the various flaws in our examining  process. How can a person can access a learning of 1 year in 2 hrs.Why assessment is done by evaluating what the examiner want to know not by evaluating what the examine know?

philosophy of education

According to the science every human brain has some specific learning capabilities but the philosophy believes that every human brain has same capacity to learn anything, in fact the environment he /she is exposed to or the efforts put by him /her plays the important role. Therefore the philosophy argues that equal treatment should be given to the each and every child while educating them. Philosophy of education believes that equity can be achieved through this only in the sustainable manner. Philosophy argues that the time taken by the child to learn something can be different.

Now here my question arises let’s take an example. Suppose there are two students one is A1 and another is A2, now we provide them same kind of environment, same kind of learning experience. Now after some time we found that A1 is a slow learner and he/she is taking a double time in learning anything than A2. Now I have some doubts how this time gab going to affect this equity. We all know things change with time. So can we really achieve equity by ignoring the value of time during learning. Another question is in our society different weight-age is given to various disciples and different are the economic opportunities with them now how the economic equity be achieved.

Hi everyone...!

Monday 16 July 2012

21 years back in this same month of July I started my schooling. Whatever I remember of those days was that I never loved going to school. There was nothing which attracted me towards school. When I grew up the reason behind my going to school was to become 'some one' in future. Going to school was the synonymous of the good future.Same was the thinking of my parents, teachers and my society. We were asked several times in our school days what do you want to become in future. The basic motive of my school was to make their students capable of earning in future. Is this should be the aim of our education system. We were taught only those subjects or emphasis was given to only those subjects which have greater value in the market. No this should be stopped , by doing this we are only creating the machine made knowledge. Our education should attract students for gaining knowledge or to learn the new things not only the means to make money. We need to re energize  our education system so that it can attract students to learn how to make their lives worth living. Our education system at presents serves the dreams of parents not children .It need to be rethink and reforms should be done.
